Tell us about your career journey since you graduated…
The knowledge obtained during the Biomedical, Biomechanics and Bioelectronics MSc course at Brunel gave me the opportunity to be a lecturer in a recognized university in Ecuador. My passion for teaching encouraged me to share my experiences with new students in Ecuador. San Francisco de Quito University keeps me in touch with academic staff and researchers in the field of Biomedical Engineering from all around the world.
What does an average day at work involve for you?
In a normal day, I share my time teaching electronics and doing research with colleagues in the biomedical field. I encourage students to develop projects that produce a positive impact on the Ecuadorian community. Furthermore, I collaborate with students from other universities with the aim to perform research as a working group.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far?
From my point of view, the highlight of my career has been getting a position at San Francisco de Quito University. I am really happy to be part of the academic world. I got this amazing opportunity since my Biomedical Engineering MSc degree makes the difference in my country Ecuador.
How would you say Brunel helped you to get where you are today?
My studies at Brunel enormously contributed to achieving my current position. The combination of various engineering fields including mechanics, electronics and biomedical sciences is my strength and is definitively an advantage in the competitive job market in Ecuador. I am capable of developing automated devices that might improve the quality of life of vulnerable people in my country.
Why did you choose to study at 成人直播app and why would you recommend Brunel to others?
I chose Brunel essentially because it is a recognised University in the engineering field inside the 成人直播app. The study programme is well organised and it provides all the facilities to complete your postgraduate studies successfully. Furthermore, it is situated in a lovely location in one of the most beautiful cities in the world; London.
What is your best memory of studying here?
The best memory that I have from Brunel is the number of friends from all around the world that I made. I learned from different cultures and I am amazed by the diversity of people that I knew. I also keep in mind all my professors. They facilitated me with a wide range of knowledge and they were always eager to help me with any question.
If you could give one piece of advice to new students, what would that be?
New students should take advantage of the excellent Biomedical MSc programme, the experienced professors, the helpful facilities and all the kind staff that Brunel offers. Advanced research and state of the art technology in all their laboratories provide an excellent environment for developing innovative capacities. Do not forget to make lots of friends from many countries.
What would be your top tip or advice for new graduates as they begin their career journey?
My advice for new graduates would be to be confident about the knowledge and the skills obtained at Brunel. You are prepared to perform well in a competitive world, not only in academics but also in the industry. Definitively, studying at Brunel will give you the chance to get an excellent job.
