Borough Road Alumnus inducted into Athletics Canada Hall of Fame
At 86 years young, Danny Daniels (1951) is showing no signs of slowing down. A regular sight on the outdoor running track in the small Canadian town of Sidney, British Columbia, he has recently been inducted into the Athletics Canada Hall of Fame. Daniels served on the Athletics Canada Board of Directors from 2000 to 2012 and was the inspiration and driving force behind the creation of the Athletics Canada Hall of Fame in 2010. He represented the association on an international level and was Head of Delegation for the Canadian track and field team at major international sporting events such as the 2002 Commonwealth Games, 2007 Pan American Games and 2008 Paralympic Games.
Described as being “…unfailingly generous with his time and expertise…”, Daniels was a senior civil servant and educator across Canada and in Africa.
Competitively Danny holds numerous Canadian Masters Age Group Records and at the 2010 World Indoor Championships, he placed first in the 80-84 age category!
