Professor Heinz Wolff
Brunel University Archives staff were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Professor Heinz Wolff on Friday 15th December 2017.
We consider ourselves very lucky to have had the chance to work with Heinz. Phaedra Casey, the University Archivist, once gave a talk about Men in Education for International Men’s Day. One of the men selected was Heinz. With an MA in Medieval Studies, she mentioned that she was not used to giving talks about people who were actually in the room. Heinz, mischievous as always, planted himself right in front of the podium!
In 2013 Heinz was delighted with the results of the Brunel Chaplaincy Snowman Competition, and had the photo we sent him stuck on his office wall!
His sense of fun is fully expressed in this photo of him arriving at his 80th birthday celebration at Brunel, on a scooter he had built which was powered by a fire extinguisher!
Heinz was a much-loved member of staff here at Brunel, and will be greatly missed by all of us.
