Game of Thrones: How accurate are the battles?

GOT 920x540

Since it premiered in 2011, Game of Thrones has been thrilling fans the world over with its tales of power, war and family. With just two episode left to air of the final series, fans are on tenterhooks to find out who will find themselves atop the Iron Throne at the bitter end.

One element the show has become known for, and which always gets the viewers’ hearts racing, is the epic battle scenes which tip the balance of power every few seasons. Brunel’s Dr Kristian Gustafson, senior lecturer in Intelligence and Security Studies, sat down with to look back over the history which underpins the battles of Game of Thrones.
