MyHealth Hillingdon is a charity offering education and empowerment programmes to help those living with long-term conditions and other health issues, both physically and mentally. The organisation ensures that the residents of Hillingdon can access high-quality, evidence-based care services by offering workshops facilitated by health professionals and co-produced with service users and carers, providers, local authorities, community, and voluntary sector groups.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will help the MyHealth team engage with the public across the borough in public areas such as libraries, supermarkets, shopping centres, and churches. As Engagement Officer Volunteer, you will learn a set of skills such as stakeholder relationship building, communication, active listening, empathy, negotiation and persuasion, conflict resolution, event planning, and coordination.
Typical duties include:
- Promoting MyHealth services to the public
- Recording interested names to be contacted
- Developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage the public
- Understanding the needs and expectations of the public in order to tailor engagement strategies
Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
Skills Required:
- Volunteering hours count towards the Brunel Volunteers Award and Brunel Plus.
