The Ealing Anchor Foundation formerly known as P.E.S.T.S (Parents of Ealing Self Help Training Scheme) provides information, advice, and support to parents and carers of children aged 0-5 with SEND (diagnosis not required) and living in the London Borough of Ealing. The organisation delivers a range of workshops, events, play groups, advise sessions, and support groups dedicated to building and empowering the local community.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will create a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for children to engage in pay and recreational activities. As a Play Worker, you will learn a set of skills such as child development knowledge, play facilitation, supervision and safety, communication with children, conflict resolution, inclusion, and diversity.
Typical duties include:
- Working closely with the senior play leader ensuring the safety and well-being of the children during play sessions
- Planning and organising various play activities, games, and crafts that are age-appropriate and cater to the interests and abilities of the children
- Helping to set up play spaces and equipment to create an inviting and stimulating environment
- Engaging with the parents and participating in their play
Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
