The Different Strokes is a charity run by experts in stroke recovery and rehabilitation who have personal experience with stroke. The organisation provides services for younger stroke survivors and information so they can have a voice within the government for better standards and improved understanding.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will assist the organisation with the coordination and delivery of group-based educational and recreational activities for participants. As a Group Classes Volunteer, you learn a set of skills such as communication, public speaking, active listening, adaptability, time management, problem-solving, and creativity.
Typical duties include:
- Helping set up the classroom or activity space before the class starts
- Greeting participants as they arrive, creating a friendly and welcoming environment
- Assisting with serving tea and coffee and other refreshments
- Offering one-on-one assistance to participants in chair-based exercises
Please note, this role requires a CV, and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
