Hounslow Action For Youth is a charity designed to prevent disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people from engaging in crime or anti-social behaviour by providing stimulating activities and personalised support to improve their education and learning, identifying and encouraging their strengths and passions so that they can become active citizens, reach their full potential and have better chances in life. The organisation operates across the London Borough of Hounslow but targets three disadvantaged wards: Feltham, Bedfont, Hanworth.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will contribute to nurture creative talents and help young artists develop their artistic aspirations. As a Youth Art Mentor, you'll acquire valuable skills in youth development, leadership, creativity, artistic expression and mentorship.
Typical duties include:
- Providing young artists with opportunities to learn new skills, experiment with different mediums, and expand their artistic capabilities in a supportive and nurturing environment
- Participating in the design and implementation of diverse activities for the benefit of young community members
- Ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of young participants during activities
- Fostering a culture of open dialogue, actively encouraging communication and feedback from young participants
Please note, the role requires a DBS check and the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
