Radio Hillingdon is a charity providing patients of Hillingdon Hospital with regular programs; this includes national and international news, local events information, health and well-being advice, and a diverse selection of music upon request. The organisation aims to mitigate the effects of sickness, infirmity, and/or old age residents of the London Borough of Hillingdon by offering a local broadcasting service to hospitals, hospices, care homes, and/or similar institutions.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you be engaging with the patients, informing them how they can listen to Radio Hillingdon, and collecting music requests. As a Presenter, you will improve your communication skills, empathy, and ability to contribute to the well-being and care of others.
Typical duties include:
- Interacting with patients to understand their musical preferences
- Conducting interviews with guests, healthcare professionals, or community members to provide diverse content and perspectives to the audience
- Announcing upcoming programs, news, and events to keep the listeners informed and engaged
- Creating and maintaining playlists to ensure a diverse and enjoyable music selection for patients
Please note, this organisation requires a minimum 3 months commitment for at least 2 hours a week in addition to two references and a DBS check (fully funded).
