Research Interests
Emily is a member of the Centre for Physical Activity in Health and Disease, the Centre for Health and Wellbeing across the Lifecourse and contributes to the Health Behaviour Change Research Group.
Emily's research interests are grounded in understanding experiences of sport, exercise and physical activity for people living with chronic health conditions, such as multiple long-term conditions, arthritis, diabetes and chronic pain. To explore these topics, Emily utilises qualitative and narrative research methods (semi-structured interviewing, focus groups, life story interviews, narrative interviews, digital storytelling) and various forms of qualitative and narrative analysis.

Emily is currently working on several projects utilising digital storytelling as a method to explore physical activity, health and wellbeing with a variety of populations, from community groups to people living with multiple long-term conditions.
