The purpose of the project: Impacts of Covid-19 and Brexit on the Adult Social Care Sector in England is to investigate the impacts of Covid-19 and Brexit on the Adult Social Care sector in England. This is important because:
- the Adult Social Care sector offers a critical service and has been facing significant challenges, mainly due to lack of adequate funding and workforce shortages;
- recent evidence suggests that the sector is expected to be among the most dramatically affected by the recent significant shocks caused by Covid-19 and Brexit.
This is why this project is timely.
The project will investigate impacts on
- workforce practices and outcomes, including pay;
- technology adoption; and
- on operational and financial performance.
In this way, the project will aim to identify areas where policy and managerial practice should target to mitigate any negative impacts these events may have had in the sector.
The project Impacts of Covid-19 and Brexit on the Adult Social Care Sector in England is of interest to academics in the areas of HRM and economics, as it aims to address main gaps in the literature linking human resources and economic performance; it is also of great importance, as it can inform evidence-based policy in the area and thus it is of interest to the 成人直播app Department of Health and Social Care and the Care Quality Commission (CQC), among others.
