Our staff

Our international staff are experts in a diversity of areas within the creative sectors, having academic, policy and industry experience. Many combine creative practice with teaching and performance.

Our roles as academics at ³ÉÈËÖ±²¥app combine teaching the next generation of creative thinkers and practitioners with conducting the latest research, policy development and public engagement.

Our academics are sought out for their expertise in areas including racism in the media, intellectual property rights and popular culture such as the impact of the character Mario on Italian Culture. We provide advice to local authorities in regards to redeveloping their local high streets and work with heritage institutions to enhance audience engagement through the use of VR. Our outputs span from international performances, Booker prize winning works, inspiring video games, prize winning films, innovative music compositions and much more. As a university we are proud to approach research from an interdisciplinary perspective which leads to productive interactions that combine different disciplines in new and exciting ways.

In current projects, members of our Games Department are working with psychologists and sports scientists to create interactive activities. Our Film and Television students are involved in a project with academic staff to work with local companies producing new and engaging video content for their websites. The sociology and communications department is engaged in decolonising the Himalayas. Academics in the theatre department are working with dance companies to decolonise contemporary dance. Our Journalism department are producing the wonderful , a local newspaper that is distributed across the borough. These are just a few of the exciting projects our staff are involved in.

Working with members of the public and those external to Brunel is important to us all and we are always interested in collaborative partnerships – if you’re not sure how or where to get started you can get in touch with the Creative Industries Hub at isobel.ward@brunel.ac.uk.
